Who should detox?

 

Mounting research is showing chronic exposure to indoor and outdoor environmental toxins, heavy metals, biotoxins, chemicals, additives, pesticides, and herbicides can lead to hormone dysregulation, altered dna and rna replication, and impaired nervous system function.  According to the President’s Cancer Panel annual report, an estimated 80,000 chemicals are used in our society and only 200 have been tested for safety.  The highest exposures are now among children.  Cleansing at a cellular level can decrease our body burden of toxins.

What are some common symptoms of toxicity?

How long will the detox take?

The length of your detoxification program will be determined by your test results and level of exposure.  A general detoxification program can be anywhere from 30 days for a generally well patient to 6 months for a chronically sick patient.

 

Will I have symptoms if I am toxic?

I like to describe toxicity in our body like a bathtub with the water running.  Your body is the bathtub and the water coming out of the faucet is your exposure to toxins.  Depending on how fast the water is on, it is only a matter of time until the bathtub overflows.   If you have no symptoms, but the tub is ready to overflow does that mean you are healthy?  No.

 

Will cleansing interfere with my medication?

Getting the proper protocol for supplements is very important to not interfere with prescription medication.

 

Do I have to fast or be near a toilet for days while I detox?

There is no fasting involved with the detoxification program.   Providing the body with proper micronutrients and macronutrients is important for cellular healing.  There is no extreme dieting or calorie restriction during the program.How will I know what to eat?

Will I have to cut anything out of my diet?

Alcohol, processed dairy, processed sugar, artificial sweeteners, processed grains, soda, corn, and tap water will be eliminated during cleansing.  You will be given simple recipes and diet guidelines to make the transition easy.

 

Will I get sick from the detox?

Most people say they have more energy, lose weight, and feel great after cleansing.  However, sometimes people experience symptoms, such as gastrointestinal pain, headaches, and fatigue.  Usually, these people are very sick and have a high body burden of toxins.

 

How often do I need to detox?

Decreasing your exposure to known carcinogens and toxins is step #1.  Protecting your body from exposure is step #2.  How often you need to detox is based off your work and home exposure as well as lifestyle.

 

How do I decrease my exposure to toxins?

How much water should I drink?

Drink half of your body weight in ounces of water per day.  Drink more if you are active.  Add lemon or lime to alkalize your water.  Avoid tap water and drink reverse osmosis or natural spring water.
